Welcome to Scandinavian Goannas
On this website you will find all kinds of information about varanids.
It will be a continuous process on this site as I learn more and more about these amazing animals.
A little about who is behind Scandinavian Goannas.
“My name is Kenneth, at the time of writing I’m 46 years old, living in Denmark ( part of Scandinavia). I’ve kept reptiles since 1992.
Like many others I have kept different species over the years, before finding the species/groups of reptiles that I was most passionate about.
I’ve kept monitors since the early 2000s, but not as intense as I do today. I had a period where my main focus was Fiji banded iguanas ( Brachylophus sp. ) and I bred loads of them.
Then slowly my passion shifted more and more towards the monitors, and back in 2020 I stared to sell off most of the Fiji iguanas and started to really focus on monitors again.
Ive kept and bred the following species:
Varanus timorensis
Varanus panoptes horni
Varanus griseus griseus
Varanus indicus
Varanus tristis
Varanus acanthurus ( yellows and reds )
Varanus kingorum
Varanus primordius
Varanus storri
Varanus gilleni
Varanus Gouldii flavirufus.
